MICRON ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN STUNT CHAMPION

ImageMicron has announced that it is to supply its exhaust products to America’s top stunt rider, Dan Jackson.

The 29-year-old from Kansas beat world champion, Christian Pfeiffer, by just half a point at the Stuntwars event held in January at Lakeland in Florida, riding a heavily-modified Honda FireBlade.

Stuntwars - the most prestigious US freestyle streetbike competition - is the first individual title won by Jackson, a former motocross professional, although he has won team events and individual stunt awards before this year’s triumph.

The announcement follows Micron’s recent agreement with Tucker Rocky in the US that is expected to see the British exhaust manufacturer’s profile rise significantly in one of the largest single motorcycle markets.

“We’re delighted to be involved with Dan this year,” said Micron’s sales and marketing director, Ross Clifford. “Stunt championships are a totally different form of motorsport to the pure racing that Micron has traditionally been involved with.

“Even though performance is not so vital,” he added, “engine response is, and the exhaust sound is part of the overall entertainment for the spectators. Micron wishes Dan and his team the best of luck for the rest of 2007.”
