MICRON ENTERS BANDIT COUNTRY |
Micron has announced the launch of its Delta+ silencer for Suzuki’s new 1250 Bandit. This universally popular machine has been relaunched for 2007 with an all-new water-cooled engine to conform to Euro III emissions regulations.
The Delta+ silencer is available in stainless steel or titanium finishes and comes with a connecting pipe which leads to a considerable weight saving over the standard equipment. The standard silencer and connector weigh 6.5kg on the 1250 Bandit model while Micron’s aftermarket option weighs just 3.3kg – a 3.2kg reduction over the original equipment.
Suzuki’s engineers have completely redesigned the new Bandit’s engine for improved mid-range torque, which is boosted further with the addition of Micron’s Delta+ system. Power is increased, too, with a 2.5bhp boost in the important mid-range and an additional 1.8bhp at the top end.
The recommended retail price for the stainless steel finish Delta+ for Suzuki’s 1250 Bandit is £249.99 including VAT. The titanium option, meanwhile, will cost £324.99. The unit will fit directly to the bike.
“Suzuki’s Bandit has become an iconic bike due to its popular combination of performance, comfort and value for money,” commented Micron’s brand manager, Arthur Macdonald.
“It remains among the UK’s most popular models”, he added, “with many owners wishing to individualise their own bike. Micron’s Delta+ is a perfect and cost-effective way to do this, with the added benefit of weight reduction and a significant improvement in torque and power.”
