MICRON’S MARTIN CONFIDENT FOR CENTENARY TT |
Micron-sponsored rider, Guy Martin, is confident that his form in last weekend’s North West 200 in Northern Ireland will serve him well in the forthcoming Centenary TT on the Isle of Man.
The 25-year-old took his Hydrex Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade to fourth place in the opening Superbike race, which was won by John McGuinness, with Micron-sponsored Steve Plater third on his AIM Yamaha R1.
Martin went one better in the first Supersport race on his Hydrex Honda CBR600RR, climbing on to the podium with Plater and race winner Bruce Anstey. Martin finished second in the feature Superbike outing, which was won by 34-year-old Plater.
Lincolnshire rider, Martin, made it a successful weekend for Micron by finishing third in a Superstock race that was dominated by Micron-sponsored riders, six of whom finished in the top seven places.
Micron’s Cameron Donald, however, did not enjoy a particularly happy North West, finishing seventh in the Superbike opener and fourth in the Superstock race before crashing and breaking his collarbone in the second Superbike outing. His Uel Duncan Racing team is hopeful that the promising Australian will be fit for next month’s Centenary TT races on the Isle of Man.
“It was a good weekend for our sponsored riders,” said Micron’s John Charlesworth. “Steve Plater and Guy Martin did a fantastic job to get six podiums between them. We wish Cameron Donald a speedy recovery and we’re all looking forward to the TT.”
