NEW MICRON GP-SPORT SILENCERS FOR SUZUKI’S NEW HYPERBIKE |
Micron has announced twin silencers for Suzuki’s recently launched GSX1300R Hayabusa. The silencers are, says Micron, the first in a new wave of Hydroformed products designed and manufactured specifically for the bikes on which they appear.
Micron is calling the new style GP-Sport, and the products feature greater capacity, improved gas flow and carbon end-caps. The twin, E-marked silencers fit directly on to the original Hayabusa pipework and feature removable baffles. They offer a weight saving of 8.2kg over the original silencers.
“The reason that these new GP-Sport silencer look so good on the new Hayabusa is that they were designed specifically for the bike,” commented Micron’s brand manager, Arthur Macdonald. “It’s something that our sophisticated CAD systems and Hydroforming manufacturing process allow us to do and we’ll be introducing more GP-Sport products on important 2008 models in the coming weeks.
“The new Hayabusa maintains the extraordinary performance of its predecessor,” he added, “and these new GP-Sport end-cans improve considerably the overall looks of this bike, while taking nothing away from that truly astonishing performance.”
Macdonald concluded: “The Hayabusa’s engine is used, of course, in Suzuki’s other big 2007 launch, the B-King. We’re planning to unveil soon a remarkable solution for that bike’s much talked-about exhaust.”
Micron’s GP-Sport silencers for the Suzuki GSX1300R Haybusa will retail at a recommended price of £632 inc VAT for the polished steel and black finishes, and £532 for the satin finish.
