STUNNING ADDITION TO NEW BLADE
Image Micron has revealed its stunning new GP Sport exhaust for Honda’s remarkable new 2008 CBR1000RR Fireblade, the bike that is being dubbed by most motorcycling publications as the bike of the year.

The original bike’s catalytic converter has been replaced by Micron’s specially designed under-body silencer, designed on the company’s sophisticated computer-aided-design systems and Hydroformed to fit the Fireblade perfectly.

The end-can is also Hydroformed to complement the new Blade’s lines and is available in three finished – High Mirror Polish, Satin Silver and Ceramic Carbon Black.

The Micron system reduces the Fireblade’s weight by 2.6kgs and boosts power by 3.5bhp at 7,500rpm, along with a 2.5ft.lbs increase in torque at the same rpm.

The Fireblade’s GP Sport is approved to BSAU1983/T3 for road use and has a removable baffle, which matches the standard machine's noise output. It is also trackday-legal with the baffle removed removed, producing 97dB at 5,500rpm.

Micron’s GP Sport for the 2008 CBR1000RR Honda Fireblade will retail at just £299.95 including VAT for the Satin Silver, with an additional £50 for the Mirror Polish and Carbon Black options.

“From all the press reports so far, the new Blade is clearly a stunning bike,” said Micron’s brand manager, Arthur Macdonald. “The new GP Sport does a pretty tough job spectacularly well – improving what is already a fantastic motorcycle.

“Not only does it enhance the looks, reduce weight and increase power,” he continued, “it does it at a price that will make this one of our most popular exhausts ever.”
